Wrexham, UK - 15th Sep 2008 - Wrexham's most visionary ICT company celebrates its 1st birthday.

Location: Advanced Information System Ltd Head Office, Wrexham

Councillor Bob Dutton, Deputy Leader Wrexham C.B.C. and the Mayor & Lady Mayoress of Wrexham (Councillors David & Denise Griffiths), were just some of the notable guests who attended a recent business event to celebrate the first year anniversary of a flourishing Wrexham company.

Advanced Information Systems Ltd (AIS) are located in the Foundry Business Centre on Yorke Street, Wrexham. They provide ICT security solutions for both private and public sector clients in the North Wales and North West region.

Simon Koscinski, from AIS said "The current economic climate is making things difficult for business owners, but thankfully we are finding that our services are very much in demand. We put this down to the increasing number of high profile security blunders by both the government and some of the high street banks. This is fuelling an awareness of just how important security has become in today's volatile business world. In addition to this, we are seeing a fundamental change in strategy within the hacking community, who seek to profit from businesses that do not take the necessary steps to protect themselves. Hackers are now moving away from writing destructive viruses such as Melissa, Slammer and ILOVEYOU, instead they now focus on developing code which secretly acquires personal data, which they can then use in a number of different ways for monetary gain".

AIS can help organisations of all sizes to protect themselves from the growing threat of Cyber crime by eliminating the risks associated with poor security. There is an extremely compelling business case to implement our Advanced Information Security Service, which requires no capital investment and can usually help to reduce the operational expenditure budget.

Councillor Bob Dutton Deputy Leader Wrexham C.B.C. said "It was pleasing to see the rapid development of this young and dynamic company from a standing start twelve months ago to a celebration of their first anniversary after a period of sound growth. I am sure that the company, with its young and committed group of professionals will continue to build on its undoubted strengths in the development and use of protection systems for computer software and hardware, which in turn will assist the development of all companies in North Wales and the North West region."

AIS are organising a security event as part of Wrexham Business Week "Cybercrime - Who is snooping around your business?" runs from 8.00am - 10.00am on Friday 24th October at the Ramada Plaza Hotel Wrexham. Please visit www.advancedis.co.uk/events for further details.
